Brothers

This is what metal is about to me. The Adler brothers are fuckin’ awesome. Tight as a ducks arse! There is definitely a “connection” of sorts when brothers (or sisters ;-) ) play in a band together. They sort of second guess what each other is thinking. My brother Stuart (bass) and I used to play in a band together in the 80’s, before we both became “failed rock stars”!. We definitely had that “connection” thing going on. Very scary sometimes. I miss that a lot, but he gave up playing years ago :-( Other brotherly connections:

  • The Van Halens
  • The Schenkers
  • The Amotts ( Arched Enemy )
  • The Olivas ( Savatage)
  • The Nelsons

Please think of some more…..

Sikki or Nikki?

Heroin DiariesI have just finished reading Nikki Sixx book “Heroin Diaries”. What a read it was, I couldn’t put the bloody thing down!

I was never a big Motley Crue fan during the 1980’s, as I was more thrash than glam, but I always liked like thier “don’t give a fuck” attitude, as compared to Ratt or Bon Jovi. This book gives a great insight into the almost, self destruction of bass player/main song writer Nikki Sixx. With comments from Slash, Ross Halfin and many more, it gives the whole book a feeling of actually being thier, going down the spiral of Nikki’s depression and drug taking. Thier is also some really humorous “Rock Star” antics with fellow band mate Tommy Lee, one involving stealing a limo then wrecking it.

Give it a read you will not be disappointed.

Van Halen

What!!!

No Micheal Anthony??. As much as I respect Eddie Van Halen and all he has been through lately, how can they tour without MA?. I see EVH’s son Wolfgang will be filling in on bass.

Micheal Anthony is not only an awesome bassist but provided the characteristic backing vocals that made Van Halen…..we shall see….

Re-release update…

Typical record company hanging it out bollox!!…..when will these wankers drag thmselves into the 21st century and get their fingers out.20 years on and nothing changes!.Thank God the internet is kicking all their arses.
